Janet Wheat brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience and a lifelong commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care. She began her nursing career at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, caring for premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill newborns. Throughout her career, Janet has served in a variety of demanding and meaningful healthcare roles, including as a member of the Baylor NICU medical transport team, a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), and a hospice provider—each role reflecting her dedication to serving patients with skill, compassion, and unwavering care. Janet Wheat earned both her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Texas Woman’s University, where she also serves as a professor in the Master’s and Doctoral nursing programs, helping educate and mentor the next generation of healthcare providers. In 2013, Janet Wheat founded Anna Family Healthcare with a mission to provide accessible, high-quality medical care for individuals and families throughout the community. Her vision has always centered on promoting health, wellness, and compassionate care for patients of all ages. Known for her dedication to both her patients and her profession, Janet combines extensive clinical expertise with a deeply personal approach to care. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also enjoys gardening, antiquing, and painting.
